Migration · Harmonisation · Carve-out · Decommissioning

Complex SAP migrations. Made predictable.

We move master and transactional data into SAP S/4HANA – from non-SAP sources or system to system. Harmonisations, carve-outs and company-code splits included. With the CaRD MIG Workbench we even migrate complex objects such as routings, production orders and bills of material – audit-proof and reversible.

From migration to decommissioning

One partner for the entire lifecycle of your SAP data – across industries, at the depth your programme needs.

Data migration is rarely just a technical transfer. It decides whether your processes run on go-live day, whether the books balance and whether your people trust the new system. That is where we come in – with an approach that brings business, technology and timeline together instead of playing them against each other.

S/4HANA data migration

We reliably move master and transactional data into SAP S/4HANA – from non-SAP sources such as Infor, Navision, proAlpha, JD Edwards or via Excel/SQL Server, as well as SAP to SAP (R/2, R/3, ECC). Whether greenfield, classic first go-live or global roll-out: we extract, transform and load consistently – and test the result before it counts.

Harmonisation & consolidation

Several systems, one truth: in system mergers we unify data models, number ranges and master data by a single logic with the same mappings and rules. We consolidate multiple sources consistently into one target – without duplicates and without breaking downstream processes.

Carve-out & system split

When a unit is sold, a clean dividing line is everything. We separate the affected data precisely and move exactly the right slice into the target system – including system split, plant and warehouse reorganisation. What should stay, stays; what should go, goes – traceably documented.

Company-code split & merge

Re-cutting, splitting or merging company codes touches financial accounting, controlling and the entire document chain. We migrate these structures including their financial dependencies and transfer balances and open items traceably – so the figures add up in the end.

Complex migration objects

This is where standard tools end and specialised ones begin. With the CaRD MIG Workbench we migrate objects that defeat on-board tools: routings, production orders, bills of material (iPPE / E-BOM / M-BOM), variant configuration and other complex structures – with all dependencies and version states.

Assets, documents & DIR originals

Fixed assets, document info records and their originals are part of a system's truth. We migrate them in full and move storage into a modern framework such as SAP HDM (Harmonized Document Management) on request – so documents stay audit-compliant and findable after the migration.

You don't need every service at once. We step in where you need us – as a complete migration team with sub-project lead, or selectively for a single critical object.

Tools

Three of our own SAP tools – one method

We don't just advise – we bring the machinery. Our own SAP-integrated tools make demanding endeavours repeatable and manageable.

Advice alone migrates no data. That is why we bring our own SAP-integrated tools, matured over more than three decades. They turn demanding endeavours into repeatable, manageable processes – from the first dry-run to audit-proof evidence. Three tools cover the entire lifecycle: migration, decommissioning and archiving.

CaRD MIG Workbench The migration engine

Our own migration environment, fully integrated in SAP for SAP and SAP S/4HANA. It is multi-user capable, scales with the number of your objects and gives every run full transparency: mappings, rules, logs and audit reports in one place. What we load can be simulated, traced and reset.

  • Complex objects: routings, production orders, BOMs
  • Dry-run with no write access to the target
  • Loaded data reset at the push of a button
  • PDF audit report per object – audit-proof
CaRD LSR Legacy System Retirement

With CaRD LSR we decommission legacy systems in an orderly way and turn them into a pure retrieval system – audit-compliant, able to provide information and far cheaper to run. Records, documents and ADK files remain searchable, so you meet statutory retention and disclosure obligations without keeping the expensive production system alive.

  • Fully decommission SAP and non-SAP systems
  • Pure retrieval system with full information access
  • ADK files, documents and originals included
  • Cut operating and maintenance costs for good
CaRD Connector Archiving & archive moves

The CaRD Connector archives transactional data and relocates existing archives to modern, low-cost storage. It connects storage frameworks such as Azure, AWS, STACKIT, SharePoint or SAP HDM and speaks SAP ArchiveLink as well as CMIS – ideal to relieve databases and cut archive costs for good.

  • Archiving of transactional data
  • Archive moves from legacy to target storage
  • Targets: Azure, AWS, STACKIT, SharePoint, SAP HDM
  • Protocols: SAP ArchiveLink and CMIS
Supported storage targets
Microsoft Azure AWS STACKIT

Approach

A migration path that takes the risk out of the cutover

A method proven thousands of times ensures quality, consistency and traceability at every step. On request alternatively with the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, LSMW or your own tools.

A cutover rarely fails on technology alone – it fails on what wasn't visible beforehand. Our approach makes exactly that visible: in six steps from the first analysis to verifiable evidence, with checkpoints where you always know where your programme stands.

  1. 1

    Readiness & scoping

Automated analysis of the source system: which business objects are process-relevant, what is economical to migrate, what is better done manually? You get a clear object list with a first assessment – and a solid basis for scope, effort and timeline.

  2. 2

    Mapping & rules

Transparent mappings and rules, switchable via BRF+ where needed. Business departments maintain their own value mappings – so the current state always applies and nobody waits on IT to change a rule.

  3. 3

    Dry-run & customizing check

A simulated load without writing to the target reveals gaps in customizing early – during analysis, before they become a cutover risk. You see in advance whether the data would pass cleanly.

  4. 4

    Load & cutover

Planned dependencies, parallel loading, loads including attachments: we coordinate the whole sequence up to go-live – transparent, on schedule and with a clear view of every running step.

  5. 5

    Validation & evidence

A PDF audit report per migration object objectively documents which data was migrated – ready to submit to an independent audit and a reliable record for audits and internal sign-off.

  6. 6

    Reversible

Loaded data can be reset at the push of a button, leaving no trace in the target. That makes test cycles repeatable at will and saves the cost of additional migration systems.

Every step is repeatable – that is the core. You don't test once, but as often as it takes for the result to hold. And because every load can be reset, you need no extra migration system to do it.

For decision-makers

Migration as a predictable programme – not a risk

You own the system and the deadline. We provide the method that removes risk, effort and uncertainty from the cutover.

You don't have to master the migration yourself – but you have to be able to rely on it. So we translate technical depth into what matters for your decision: risk, timeline, cost and verifiability.

Risk reduced

Dry-run, customizing check and reversible loads expose gaps before they become a go-live risk.

Audit-proof

Objective PDF audit reports per object – ready to submit to an independent audit.

Investment protected

Reusable templates and reproducible runs preserve value across roll-outs and follow-up projects.

Predictable date

Coordinated load dependencies and transparent planning lead to a reliable go-live date.

Lean team

A few experienced specialists with efficient processes instead of a large, costly apparatus.

Architecture-ready

Solution architects get clear object lists, dependencies, mapping logic and interfaces for a clean target design.

Readiness check: clarity in a few days

We scan your system automatically for critical migration objects and discuss a first assessment with you: which objects are process-relevant, what is economical to migrate, what is better done manually? A solid basis for scope and effort – with no obligation.

FAQ

What decision-makers ask about SAP migration

The questions that come up again and again in migration and S/4HANA projects – answered clearly and without technical jargon.

What actually gets migrated?

Master and transactional data from all relevant modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, QM), complex objects such as BOMs, routings and production orders, plus documents, attachments and archive content. Together we define what is process-relevant – and what is better archived than migrated.

How predictable are effort and cost?

Very. With the readiness check and a rule-based analysis of your system we create transparency about scope, risk and effort early on. You get a solid basis for scope and budget – before the first migration run.

Do we really have to bring all legacy data?

No – and that is often the biggest lever. We migrate process-relevant data deliberately and archive the rest in an audit-proof way (Azure, AWS, STACKIT or SharePoint, via ArchiveLink and CMIS). This keeps the new system lean and cuts licence and operating cost.

How do you ensure data quality and consistency?

Through automated validation, cleansing and mapping rules in our MIG Workbench. Every run is logged and traceable, deviations become visible before go-live – no flying blind into production.

What happens to documents and the archive?

We migrate them in full. Original documents (DIR/DMS), GOS attachments and connected archives are migrated or re-connected via the CaRD Connector – without loss and with the link to the business object preserved.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on the landscape and scope – but our tool-supported, repeatable approach makes the timeline plannable early. Instead of one big-bang migration we work in controlled, testable iterations up to go-live.
